Why is nature is so important?

Often overwhelmed by reports of plummeting biodiversity more and more species are becoming endangered. Wild Importance explores the importance of biodiversity and celebrates ways in which the world is working with nature to become more environmentally sustainable.

Why do we need biodiversity? And what can we do to conserve it? Questions that I aim to explore!

Alongside I aim to delve into the long history of mankind's connection with wildlife, ask whether we are indeed losing this connection and how we can get it back?

ABOUT ME

Isabel Lewis

Nature lover

Blogger

I have always had a passion for natural history and a love of the great outdoors. I have a BSc in Animal Science through which a developed a focus on British wildlife and environmental sustainability.

My dissertation evaluated the ecosystem services that can be provided by reintroducing beavers back into European habitats.

I have also started writing pieces for New Nature -  an online nature magazine produced by and aimed at under 30-year-olds.

I started Wild Importance as a way to document my exploration into finding out why nature is so important and how society can move/is already moving forward into a more environmentally sustainable future and reconnect with nature.
